Rewilding Professional Chaplaincy

To rewild is to remember and re-earth. Many of us share lineages that descend from colonizers, or displaced communities, and we have lost sight of our belonging to the earth. Professional spiritual care practitioners, sometimes referred to as chaplains, learn how to support meaning-making, spiritual health, and …. but many have yet to root down into the foundations of our caregiving - our belonging to the earth.

Rewilding chaplaincy is a movement that seeks to repair and recover lost wisdom, forgotten modalities for caregiving, and challenge other worldly views of care that prioritize other worlds over this place, our beloved and sacred home.

Rewilding requires chaplaincy to take the climate crisis seriously, and to recognize that caregiving is intimately interrelated to the health of our planet.
